AREAS OF FOCUS
Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect
We seek to make grants that provide support to organizations that prevent child abuse and neglect, and help children heal. As the most vulnerable and innocent population in our society, we seek programs that protect them during their formative years and encourage them to reach their full potential in life.
Organizations we support: NYSPCC, Complete Playground
Preventing Animal Cruelty
We aim to fund animal rescues, educational programs and nonprofits that are protecting the welfare of defenseless animals, and educate the next generation to become more caring and humane. Our focus is on organizations that both directly impact the welfare of individuals but also seek to pursue policy and structural changes to communities that are affected by dog fighting and animal abuse.

Promoting and Sponsoring education
We have established the Cosmin Panait and Lilian Yang MMS scholarship at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, with the aim to support international students in particular and attract the best and brightest from around the world. We are hoping to give students the chance to feel less financial burden and allow them to rest easier throughout studying and finding a job—to know that they are supported by individuals other than their families.

OUR GRANTMAKING
The Cosmin Panait & Lilian Yang Foundation primarily reviews proposals on an invitation-only basis. We seeks out organizations whose missions and objectives align with the Foundation’s priorities and areas of focus. We offer support through both annual and multi-year grants.
When assessing funding requests, the following criteria are generally applied:
Does the organization demonstrate effective leadership, a strong board, sound financial management, and solid planning?
Are the organization’s goals clearly defined, with a proven track record of success in achieving and measuring those goals?
Do the mission and objectives of the organization align with the Foundation’s current focus areas?
